iThe Nissan GTR has proven to be a phenomenal build platform for tuners since it's debut in 2008, however with increased horsepower its achilles heel has been the GR6 transmission. The factory GR6 aluminum casing have been found to flex under heavy loads, a
problem amplified by the use of stickier tires causing mis-shifts or catastrophic failures of the gear box.
This GTR Transmission Brace is CAD designed, laser cut from a combination of 1/4 and 1/2 steel, and Tig welded in a structural jig then powder coated. The mount incorporates multiple points of contact with the factory castings at crucial points to reduce torsional flex under load. In addition to multiple points of contact in the differential and axle portion of the gearbox, the brace features integrated solid mounts that replace the factory rubber mounts and providing an additional reduction of flex. Installation requires removal of the transmission from the car, taking this into account it can still be completed in a matter of hours and requires no permanent modification to the vehicles chassis.
